Celebration of Learning

My showcase chose the first Wow and Wonder to expand, because I think full automation in the future needs our attention, because it is not certain when humans will be replaced by science and technology. We have no job opportunities in the future, the direction of life has become unknown. But I always believe that human beings have a great advantage over robots, because human beings can think, but machines just complete tasks according to the instructions given by human beings, without humanization. However, some meaningless labor force can be replaced by machines, which raises the educational requirements for human beings and reduces most of the labor force relying on physical strength. We can choose to add some new types of labor force, and people can learn and train themselves to understand the job content, so PLN and automation are combined to achieve a perfect match.

In the second post, I understand that in the era of rapid development of the Internet, learning is endless, which must be obtained through independent learning and communication with the world. Surfing the Internet can actually bring us something that we can’t learn from books. Sometimes not knowing through practice is not how to use their knowledge to solve the situation. The sense of achievement brought by autonomous learning is way more than closed learning can bring. Therefore, the knowledge learned is not the most valuable, but the ability to use the knowledge learned plus independent judgment is more valuable.

The third post explains the difference between visitors and residents. Each of us belongs to the visitor on the web. Most of the time we use electronic tools, phones and computers every day to visit the Internet. It could be answering questions, exploring food and reading articles. But these tracks are only known to us, not scattered across the web. But when we go online to socialize with the world, it’s not anonymous, because we choose to be open about our movements. The difference between a resident and a visitor is that a resident develops a manageable community through the Internet, for example as an influencer blogger or Instagram user. Others can come into your community to leave comments and see the information you want to present to others.

My fourth post criticized the shortcomings of traditional education and the inclusiveness and diversity of education. In the traditional way of education, relying on the teacher’s personal opinion to judge what is suitable for a student and then carry out corresponding education for him, such education is defective. In the 21st century, education begins to pay more attention to diversity and inclusiveness. All learning directions and characteristics should be inclusive and diverse learning methods should be allowed. Only in this way can human beings create achievements in their own fields. They are not self-worth if they are always rejecting particular studies. Tolerance of these characteristics should be the essence of learning, but now it is more advocated to do so, and the meaning of learning itself is lost.

The fifth post proposes the discovery and dissemination of network propaganda. It’s good for celebrities when they have fans, but it’s not a bad thing when they have anti-fans. Because when the Internet can create traffic for a person or thing for them is a good network publicity. This kind of large-scale publicity can bring more attention, because the speed of network transmission is very fast. This kind of communication is an ideology, and everyone is influenced by each other. For example, getting information from other users on social platforms. But that is why we should have the ability to distinguish right from wrong, because we are all communicators, and once we spread false information, it is easy to spread it from person to person. After reading this article, I decided on the topic of our group assignment: Weibo. As a famous social platform in China, Weibo is deeply loved by netizens. Because this platform can satisfy all the needs of users such as: star dynamic, daily news, good things to share and a variety of life tips. But there are also big events happening on the platform, such as the spread of misinformation. As the number of weibo users is up to 100 million, the spread speed is unimaginable, resulting in the need to close the client of Weibo for emergency treatment. At this time, the privacy of software embodies the full value, and the information disseminators who mislead others should be strictly punished. The knowledge that can be obtained in the Internet is also immeasurable, because now human beings rely more and more on the Internet, basically all questions can be found on the Internet.

The sixth post focuses on the points needing attention and solutions for self-directed learning on the Internet. Once we see seductive information, we should choose to report it rather than enter it. When we are not sure of the accuracy of information, we should compare statements made in many places, and we can always find the basis to convince ourselves from different conclusions. Although networks selectively present us with the information they want us to receive, as human beings with brains, we have the ability to judge the reliability of information. What you see is not always what you see, and the Internet can only play a supporting role, not the whole story.

The last post describes the success of an open access course. Most educators are still neutral to open education, not denying its advantages but not daring to give up the stability brought by traditional teaching. But when the Internet develops rapidly, human beings should also make appropriate improvements and use it in learning in the right way so as to achieve an expansion. The central concept of open education is democracy, without compulsory education and knowledge building. YouTube and wikipedia are great examples of open learning. However, they are very effective platforms for learning a business if the traditional education didn’t give you the knowledge. And the people around you will do the same, because human behavior is influenced by environmental factors. Open learning can bring experience that traditional learning can not give, everyone should have the right to make their own decisions.

The knowledge brought to me in this semester is something I didn’t have access to before. This class itself is a kind of open education. At the beginning of the semester, it was very confusing, because it broke the traditional way of teaching. We had to explore the things in this class according to the instructions itself, but it was very interesting. If the teacher helps us to create all the things first, this class will not bring us any knowledge and skills, everything created by myself is very impressive to me. The articles I read for the course also gave me a new understanding of the Internet.
